Game of Walls!

One evening, I was reflecting on this wall that Trump is proposing to build. Trump is proposing to build a wall along the southern border, where USA meets Mexico to keep out illegal “aliens.” As if that doesn't sound ridiculous enough already, he made a statement in an interview indicating that the Mexican government will pay for it all by being taxed on anything imported into the United States. As we Americans consume the products imported from Mexico, we will be paying the taxes on them, therefore we will be paying for the wall! Did I miss something? If the United States government wants it, why the heck are we, the people, paying for it? Correct me if I am wrong, but that makes absolutely no sense!

I recently saw a video of a man poking fun at the whole wall situation. He couldn't stop laughing. He said if Trump is to build a wall to keep the illegal immigrants away, then he needs to build one quite high because 40% of the illegal population comes by plane. Trump, are you going to build it high enough so the planes do not get in either? The concept of the wall is so outrageous that people are going public and calling Trump a fool! If you are so adamant about keep immigrants out, why stop at Mexico? Build a wall around the whole country! I have news for you, it still won't keep us folks out. What are you going to do to those of us who are already here?

Speaking of keeping things out! In recent news, there has been a report of sewage spilling into Southern California’s waters. Beaches, oceans, all filled with ridiculous amounts of sewage. You may be wondering why? All this occurred during a repair of a sewage pipe. Instead of paying for the cost of pumping all that smelliness, Tijuana decided to just send it our way. Trump, if you want to help, why don’t you work on keeping their crap out? That poses a serious health hazard. Your phobia of people coming here illegally is not going to pose a serious safety issue! I have always been on the fence of how I feel about people illegally entering the country. There can be some very compelling reasons as to why one may be fleeing from their country of origin. What if there is a life or death situation and the person has to go? Do you suppose they will sit around waiting for their paperwork to come to the United States to go through? I do not think so Tim! Trump’s ancestry is Scottish and German, meaning he is also not a native of this land. His ex-wife is Czech and his current wife is Yugoslavian and he is the one to implement all these immigration restrictions and bans! A good chunk of this land at one point did belong to Mexico. The land was taken away from them as the land was taken from the Native Americans before that! The Native Americans did not require the colonists to show any paperwork when they arrive on the East Coast! Why then are we asking for people to have their paperwork in order to live here, when we are all immigrants?

The bottom line is that we are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants. Even more importantly we are humans and should be treated as such. The government, as it is today, is not treating certain groups fairly and justly, and this has always been the case. Famous walls from history include; The Great Wall of China, Hadrian’s Wall, and the most recent the Berlin Wall. These three walls were built to serve the same purpose, to keep the opposition out! The Great Wall of China was to keep nomadic barbarians and invaders out. Hadrian’s wall was to keep nomadic tribes out. Lastly, the Berlin Wall was to keep communism untouched by “western fascists.” So with all of this in mind, how is Trump’s Wall any better? History is repeating itself. These walls promote separation and exclusiveness. We were all created from the same stardust … even Trump … not sure how I feel about that part. Putting walls up is never the best solution. We should celebrate our differences and similarities, but with walls up, we will never be able to figure out what those differences and similarities are.
